Area of InterestAdministrativeSalary/HourlyHourlyGeneral SummaryThe Cycle Counter Clerk is responsible for tracking inventory of variousmaterials; finding root cause for inventory discrepancies and accuratelyrecording inventory counts in the system.Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functionsof the job. Works under direct supervision.Principal Duties/ResponsibilitiesCounts and tracks physical inventoryMaintains accurate records of counts and frequency of countsCommunicates any variances or inventory discrepancies to managementRecords inventory counts in the accounting systemInvestigates any inventory discrepancies and documents any correctionsEnsures accuracy of information in the system and compliance with internalcontrolsPrepares various reports and correspondence as required.Performs other duties as required.RequirementsKnowledgeHigh school diplomaMinimum one year of experience in inventory control or related area.Working knowledge of inventory internal controls, and company proceduresWorking knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.Basic knowledge on lumber math, lumber grades and species.Preferred understanding on company policies, practices and procedures.Must be at least 18 years of age.Skills and abilitiesAbility to understand verbal and written instructions in English; abilityread and write EnglishAbility to follow written instructions and directionsAbility to identify products based on size, class, grade, species, etc.Ability to verbalize and/or document areas of deficiency with regard toinventory control policies and proceduresAbility to collect all data relative to a problematic situation and knowspecifically what needs to be done to correct itAbility to plan, and organize the work, determine priorities, meetdeadlines and work under pressure and stress.Ability to use basic and lumber mathAbiltiy to use a computer, calculator, and telephone.Ability to multitask and pay attention to detailAbility to work under immediate supervisionAbility to pass a drug testAbility to work hours mandated by managementConductHighly motivated and enthusiasticGood interpersonal skills, and good listener and communicatorProcess orientedEagerness to learnBe a team player and support the Company's goalsGood problem solving skillsPunctual and reliableUniversal Forest Products and its subsidiaries and affiliates are equalopportunity employers.
