You will work with your supervisor, or a mentor,to set goals and design a development plan to advance your career.Your Project: As part of the Maxar Earth Intelligence Division you willsupport the management and execution of satellite system engineeringactivities for Maxar Earth Observation satellites, with immediate focus onthe Legion satellites now in development and new imaging satelliteconstellations in the early design phase.Your Responsibilities: Working with other departments and engineers, youwill help develop satellite concepts of operations (conops), satelliterequirements, hardware and system specifications, system/subsystembudgets, perform trade studies, and develop alternative solutions. Youwill interact directly with our contractors, providing insight and oversightinto the contractor's development activities including design,manufacturing, test, troubleshooting, and launch.You will interface withMaxar ground system development and spacecraft operations and engineeringteams to align on space to ground interfaces.Minimum Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain U.S. Governmentsecurity clearance at the Top Secret or higher levelBachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field. Fouradditional years ofexperience may be substituted for a degreeMinimum of 15 years of experience with and working knowledge in the followingdisciplines:Intimate knowledge of the system engineering life cycleRequirements development for Satellites from the decomposition of businessrequirements, through mission design and conops development, to detailedsystem and subsystem procurement specificationsSystem budgeting and performance analysisIntimate working knowledge of subsystem functional and performancederivation, with demonstrated expertise in at least one satellite subsystemdiscipline, such as: Attitude Determination and Control, Electricalcircuit design and analysis including command and data handling, powersystems, etc., Thermal design and analysis, Bus and Instrument Integration andPreferred Qualifications:Lead engineer experience, such as:Responsible engineer for a subsystemLead system engineer on a project or programResponsibility for cradle to grave system development from concept developmentthrough manufacture, assembly, to functional and performance VandV viaanalysis or testAbility to multitask and support multiple projectsDemonstrated inquisitiveness and drive to growDemonstrated ability to manage functional and system requirements andinterfacesWorking knowledge of aerospace industry best practicesDemonstrated experience with MATLAB, Python, ExcelActive U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret or higher levelMAXAR Technologies values diversity in the workplace and is an equalopportunity/affirmative action employer.
