Manages all operational activities of the hotel’s Front Office to provide the highest standard of courteous service while meeting and exceeding profit levels. Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the front office department and staff. Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, counsels, and administers progressive disciplinary procedures for front office staff. Interacts positively with guests and takes action to resolve issues to the satisfaction of guest/resort. Generally, manages a medium staff of 5 to 10 hourly employees.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead by example: Provide a gracious and aggressive hospitality towards all customers

  • Responsible for the efficient and professional running of the front desk, including relationships with other departments

  • Be prepared to perform all front desk functions, including switchboard, business center and guest relations

  • Complete work or special projects as assigned and make sure to meet due dates

  • Promote Marriott Standards to the staff and ensure Marriott standards are being met at all times.

  • Understand Marriott QA audit and make sure FD department passes audit on first attempt

  • Know how to hire, train and develop staff

  • Oversee scheduling and payroll for front desk and AYS. Including clearing exceptions and approving payroll.

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the products, including hotel rooms, type of rooms, amenities, services of hotel, etc

  • Have PMS and MARSHA skills

  • Assist Front Desk Manager in conduct coaching and disciplinary forms

  • Assist Front Office Manager in communicating and executing overall vision and direction of the department

  • To be leader of department in Front Office Manager's absence

Requirements:

  • High school diploma

  • 1 year Hospitality supervisor position

  • PMS and MARSHA experience - preferred
