Amentum Plant Support Specialist (Training) in Pueblo, Colorado

Job Summary

SURETY -

This position is designated as an unescorted access position and is subject to the requirements of the Unescorted Access Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the PCD Commander.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / TASKS -

· Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

· Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

· Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

· Perform complex technical assignments within approved schedules and budgets under supervision of pertinent supervising personnel.

· Coordinate technical and administrative activities in area of expertise with those of other disciplines and other departments in company participating in project.

· Advise management as to the status of assignments with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.

· Provide technical assistance and guidance to assigned individuals.

· Develop and maintain close working relationships with managers on unusual or specialized problems in their area of expertise.

· Assure accuracy and timeliness of oral and written technical reports on assigned discipline activities.

· Maintain proper files and records.

· Plan and schedule discipline efforts associated with assignments.

· Assist in training and evaluation of assigned technical personnel.

· Continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities.

· Interface with client to ensure project's performance technical issues are accurately reported.

· Develop strategy and prepare written correspondence on issues of concern to Senior Management, the client, and/or Corporate.

· Review engineering changes and provide recommendations to the Plant Management team.

· Assist Plant Support Manager by gathering data for systems, reporting problems and recommending solutions.

· Assist in preparation and review of standard operating procedures (SOP) changes, and assist in employee training as a result of changes.

· Assist in investigating and developing reports on unusual plant occurrences.

· Develop various procedures and plans as required to achieve project goals.

· Research historical demilitarization challenges and opportunities and provide written or verbal summaries to Senior Management, the client, and/or Corporate

· Identify new risks or risk mitigation opportunities and develop corresponding risk assessments based upon impact to project cost or schedule.

· Develop plant organization risk response plans, coordinate associated risk-handling actions, manage risk response activities from initiation through completion, and communicate status.

· Assist plant organization risk management team members by reviewing proposed new risks, assessing risk level and categorization, and performing monthly assessments of risk reports.

· Provide monthly report on status of plant organization risk response plans and corresponding actions outlined within each plan.

· Directly interface with the Schedule, Cost, Risk Mitigation team to facilitate the analysis of the risk mitigation opportunities.

· Develop and apply quality assurance/control principles and methods to the resolution of complex operational issues.

· Support the Plant Management leadership team by providing guidance on the implementation and applicability of customer and company quality assurance/control programs and requirements.

· Provide a commercial quality assurance perspective to the Plant Management leadership team.

· Support the development of new systems, proposals, implementation procedures, management and organizational assessments, ad strategies for resolving quality issues within the Plant Management organization.

· Facilitate communication and track closure of issues associated with customer/government and team audits and assessments.

· Participate in the development of interdepartmental and inter-company solutions to quality assurance/control issues as PCAPP.

· Provide oversight and facilitation of activities in the Practical Area of the Training Facility

· Plan for and schedule maintenance/turnover evolutions.

· Plan and conduct tests specific to or occurring in the Training Facility Practical Area.

· Identify opportunities to resolve plant challenges utilizing equipment at the Training Facility.

· Identify, plan and test functionality of proposed plant modifications on equipment at Training Facility.

· Manage scheduling of equipment use by Operations, Operations Support, Maintenance and Training.

· Train the Trainers on the operation of the equipment in the Practical Area of the Training Facility.

· Facilitate stakeholder discussions and demonstrations of equipment at the Training Facility.

· Track spare parts, system functionality, preventative and corrective maintenance activities of Training Facility Equipment.

· Track and monitor ACWA Test Equipment at the Training Facility.

· Document and submit Lessons Learned.

· Identify and resolve technical challenges within the PCAPP Plant and Training Facility.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $118,726.40 - $154,648 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Minimum Requirements

REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATIONS -

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture, science, or equivalent and 13 years related experience.

  • Or, Associate degree in engineering, architecture, science, or equivalent and 17 years related experience.

  • Or, High school diploma/equivalent and 21 years related experience

  • Must be a US Citizen or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain PCAPP site access.

  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.

  • Must be willing and able to work in an industrial environment that is in close proximity to and/or in a chemical demilitarization facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate technical information to the client, senior management, peers, and subordinates so that responses are positive, plans are approved, and budgets and resources are allocated to ensure safe and environmentally sound operation.

  • Ability to understand complex chemical, mechical, electrical, control, and similar systems and related engineering fields.

  • Ability to discuss operational challenges and their solutions with managers, the client, and oversight and regulatory agencies.

  • Ability to clearly summarize technically complex issues and logically present solutions to gain acceptance.

  • Demonstrate responsiveness.

  • Ability to set priorities and rapidly reorder priorities based on outside factors.

Preferred Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in demilitarization, nuclear, chemical, petrochemical, or petroleum industry

  • Experience working in toxic/hazardous materials environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with other members of the chemical demilitarization community

  • Knowledge or experience in identifying and assessing project risks and risk mitigation opportunities, and in developing corresponding risk assessments based upon impact to project cost or schedule

  • Knowledge of federal and state codes, permits and regulations, national standards, and guides in area of specialist

  • Experience in facilitating interdepartmental and inter-company solutions to quality assurance/control issues
