The RoleThe Installer is an essential part of Tesla's Field Energy Operations team.Employees working in this role are leading the drive towards completingTesla's mission-to accelerate the world's transition to sustainableenergy. As an Installer, each employee is working with the latest solartechnology, building relationships with team members, and completing theinstallation of our products safely and on time.Tesla's ideal candidate will have a passion for learning basic energy systemconstruction, terminology, and concepts. This position is an hourly rolethat requires working outside in extreme environments, working at heights,and prolonged periods of repetitious duties including lifting, bending,and standing for long periods.Duties/Responsibilities:Supporting the Crew Lead and Electrician on the successful install ofTesla's solar products.Attending weekly team meetings and mandatory training sessions on newproducts, best installation practices, and standard workmanship guidelines.Following building standards and codes when installing panels and supportstructures.Assisting with routine maintenance on energy systems.Managing time and tasks effectively with a sense of urgency.Providing an exceptional customer experience to all customers.Required Skills/Abilities:Experience in roof work, general construction or carpentry preferred.Ability to safely handle power tools, hand tools as well as materials suchas ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries and othersimilar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.Excellent problem-solving skills.Excellent attendance is essential for the team to achieve success.Travel is mandatory and will vary dependent on business needs.Employees must be able to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time, several timesa year to various locations within the US.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Vocational or technical school training preferred.Physical Requirements:Must be able to work at great heightsMust be able to work in extreme environmentsMust be able to perform prolonged periods of repetitious dutiesMust be able to lift at least 50 pounds frequently.Benefits:As a full time, Tesla employee, you will receive full benefits from day 1for you and yourdependents.Kaiser and United Health care PPO and HSA plans (including infertilitycoverage)3 medical plan choices with $0 paycheck contributionVision and dental plans (including orthodontic coverage)Company paid Life, ADandD, short-term and long-term disability401(k), Employee StockPurchase Plans, and other financial benefitsEmployee Assistance Program, Paid Time Off, and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and employee discountsMust Meet All OSHA standards for working at heights, including:Ability to climb and utilize equipment on site including various ladders ratedfor 325 lbs.Must meet OSHA fall protection standards for at height work limited at 310lbs.Standard 1926.502(d)(16)(v):Must be able to meet equipment standards for fall protection (harness,anchor ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310 lbs.
