VOA Van Driver - PRN - CO Float Team in Montrose, Colorado

Job DescriptionThe Volunteers of America Colorado Float Team is a team of experiencedprofessionals that assist in the facilities that we serve, such as theSenior Community Care Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly(PACE), Horizons Health Care Center, Valley Manor Care Center, theHomestead at Montrose, and Home Health of Western Colorado.As an PRN Van Driver, you will enjoy ultimate flexibility and work as littleas 4 shifts per month or full time hours, it is YOUR choice. One (1)year of experience is required.The Van Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of ourresidents and participantsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :Responsible for passengers during transport, providing care in a mannerwhich ensures participant satisfaction.Follows assigned schedule, makes adjustments to meet unanticipatedchanges, while considering the needs of the participantOperates equipment safely and in compliance with vehicle licensingregulations.Maintains and completes daily required records i.e., Pre- and Post-TripInspections, gasoline purchases.Immediately reports to Transportation Coordinator, any vehicle or cell phoneoperating problems, malfunction, or incidents out of the ordinary routine.Transports participants to and from medical/specialist appointments, andactivity outings, as requested by the Interdisciplinary Team via the plan ofcaTransports meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and any otheritems as deemed necessary for participant.Provides physical assistance to each participant when needed as he/she boards and debarks from the program's vehicles.Maintains the vehicle in a neat and clean condition. Ability to use automatedcar wash.Ensures vehicle equipment is maintained and operating within manufacturesrecommendations, replacing supplies as needed.Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team when appropriate.Communicates with Transportation Coordinator daily to be updated onparticipant conditions/ changes, plan of care changes, orInterdisciplinary Team requests.Follows all policies and procedures and Occupational Safety and HealthAdministration (OSHA) safety guidelines.Maintains the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, andinformation about participants, clients or families.Handles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazardprecautions, and practices Universal Precautions.Participates in continuing education classes and any required staff andtraining meeting s. Maintains any required certifications or licenses.Performs other duties as required or requested.Job RequirementsExperience: Have a minimum of one year experience in working with the frailelderly.QUALIFICATIONS:Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-dateimmunizations before having direct participant contact.Must have a valid Colorado driver's license, proof of insurance and havemeans of transportation.Must be willing to work in facilities that are following infection controlprecautions and regular testing for COVID-19.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; CDL license withinsix (6) months of hire required if location utilizes vehicles requiring aCDL license.COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:$12.50-14.55/hourFlexible schedulingOvertime is available and paid when working over 12 hours in a day and 40hours in a weekOne hour of paid sick leave is accrued for every 30 hours worked403 (b) participation is available with annual company contributions afterone year and 1,000 hours of serviceEOE M/F/Vets/Disabled
