We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector with a high school diploma or GEDequivalent and at least 5 years of relevant experience. What to look forward to: As a QualityAssurance Inspector, you will be using your skills and expertise to ensurethat our incoming parts, in-process production, and shipped productfulfill all quality requirements. You'll be responsible to visually inspectour materials, parts, and products at different stages of production forstructural flaws, internal defects, or missing welds and accept,reject, or request rework of defective or malfunctioning units or systems.You'll develop, apply, revise and maintain our quality standards forreceiving, in-process and final inspection.The Space Systems business area, based in Louisville, Colorado withoperations in Madison, Wisconsin and Durham, North Carolina, designs andmanufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmentalsystems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government(including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.Primary Responsibilities Include:Receiving and Production InspectionInspect and file/record incoming part history records.Perform accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of rawmaterials, components, and sub-assemblies per Inspection Plans, drawingsand other specification requirements.Read and interpret specifications and part prints.Initiate nonconformance reports (NCs) as requiredEnsure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment is up to date priorto conducting inspection operations.Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions.Communicate with project engineers to ensure compliance with the final productrequirements.Document information on the computer in various databases and other internalprogramsParticipates in in-process and final inspection as needed.Trains collateral duty InspectorsPerform other miscellaneous duties as assignedFollow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality,safety, and work rules and regulations.As needed, assist Quality Engineers with conduct of First Article,in-process, and final inspectionsTrain contract / temporary employees in the inspection procedures.Must-haves:**Weekends and shift work may be required on a rotational basis**2-5 years' experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment.3-5 year's experience in aviation or spacecraft preferredPrevious mechanical inspection background with ability to use Faro-LaserSystem, CMM (preferably Zeiss), Romer, Laser Tracker and basic handmeasurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.)As required by site, knowledge of and ability to use a wide range of higherprecision measuring or Non-Destructive Evaluation equipment.Minimum (5) years' experience in mechanical inspection and inspectiontechniques.Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Experience with MS Excel and Word.Proficient with geometry and trigonometry (machine shop math).Knowledge and ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance perASME Y14.5MMinimum Fundamental Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities as stated in SNC'sResponsibility Matrix.IMPORTANT NOTICE:To conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicantmust be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protectedindividual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain
