The Role

The Manager of Cyber Threat Solutions at Lumen will lead a team of highly skilled security engineers who deploy, manage, and support critical platforms for Managed Threat Security Services. This role will provide coaching and mentoring, drive strategic vision and excellence within the Cyber Threat Solutions program, generate and leverage metrics to identify gaps and drive efficiency, and partner with other leaders within the organization to enhance our security offerings resulting in reduced customer risk and a world class customer experience.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced process and procedures to deliver effective and efficient platforms to Security teams and customers

  • Participate as a Product Owner representing Cyber Threat Solutions in the Agile process supporting security operations automation efforts

  • Manage the process and results of the onboarding of new customers to our Cyber Threat Solutions platforms and services

  • Manage the process and results for maintenance, management, tuning, and support of critical Cyber Threat Solutions platforms

  • Directly support, facilitate training, provide coaching and mentoring, and provide regular measurement and feedback to develop team members

  • Develop and deliver metrics and KPIs regarding the performance of the Cyber Threat Solutions team and associated tasks and activities

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Possess exceptional customer service skills

  • Communicate effectively with managers, customers and vendors

  • Maintain solid working relationships, including collaborative technical activities with peers

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail with good organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize across multiple activities with good time management skills

  • Experience leading teams supporting security products such as SIEM, EDR, and threat intelligence.


  • 4 or more years in a Security Engineering environment performing and managing the deployment and support of security technologies related to cyber threat monitoring, analytics, intelligence, and response.

  • Security industry certifications (examples):

  • GIAC



  • CISM

  • Security+ CCNA

  • CEH

  • Advanced knowledge and skills of at least one programming language (python preferred)
