Key Technical Skills

  • Generate quantity take off from plans and specifications to allow proper pricing of labor as well as solicitation of necessary materials and subcontractors

  • Prepare contingency and risk analysis for the estimate and pre-review

  • Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors

  • Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job and critical means and methods of construction

  • Develop and maintain business relationships with owners, small businesses, subcontractors and suppliers by creating strategic alliances and increase bid opportunities

  • Ability to provide conceptual estimates

  • Specifically looking to fill Div. 2, Div. 3, yard piping and mechanical estimating needs in Kansas City, MO, Littleton, CO, and Winter Garden, FL, offices. Working from the office is a requirement as there are no work-from-home options available


Candidates for this position must have relevant hands-on field experience or a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or business administration. They must be able to review take-off quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates and review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions. Candidates should ideally be proficient in various software tools required for their specific discipline (e.g Div.2 Estimators would ideally already be experienced with AGTEK for earthwork take off).

The ideal candidate will have experience with on-screen takeoff, proprietary estimating software systems, and/or scheduling software.
