As an Arborist Climber Trainee, you will be an integral member of a tree care crew with the primary responsibility of assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders in the performance of all tree and shrub care services on residential and commercial properties. This is a unique entry-level opportunity to learn all aspects of tree and shrub care through on-the-job training.

As an Arborist Climber Trainee, you will play an important role in:
Learning through on-the-job training to safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including:
Tree identification
Tree risk assessments
Pruning
Removals
Cabling and bracing
Root collar excavations
Properly maintaining and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
Implementation of work zone safety procedures
Assisting Arborist Climbers and Arborist Crew Leaders working on the ground and aloft
Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the Arborist Crew Leader, Arborist Representative, or Local Manager
A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
Interest in working outdoors year-round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team
Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Plant Science, Outdoor Recreation or a related field is preferred but not required
