1. POSITION:Lecturer in Rural Community Health2. DUTIES:Teaching responsibilities (12 semester-credits per year) include coursessuch as Behavioral Science in Community Health, Health Disparities, andProgram Planning and Evaluation, and may also include courses in ResearchMethods (Quantitative or Qualitative), and Violence and Trauma. Theindividual will develop personalized mentor relationships with advisees andrecruit new students into the MBS program.3. REQUIREMENTS:A terminal degree (Ph.D. or other doctorate) in a field related tocommunity health such as psychology, public health, sociology, or socialepidemiology; or a Master s degree plus substantial (minimum of 5years) professional-level experience working in public health, appliedpsychology or sociology, social geography, social epidemiology, or otherfield related to community health.The individual must demonstrate a commitment to graduate education andexcellence in teaching and mentorship.The individual must work with MBS faculty to expand and diversify MBSprogram s student enrollment.4. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:The individual should have experience in developing relationships amongresearch-based and community entities, and a record of applied researchand/or health promotion, prevention, or intervention work with communityentities.5. PREFERRED SKILLS:Teaching experience preferred.6. WAGE:Compensation: $52,000 $54,500 annually, commensurate withqualifications and experience.8. JOB SITE:Gunnison, Colorado9.
