DescriptionThe OpportunityUlteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Solar Engineeringcandidates to support design of utility scale solar projects nationwide. Thisrole will be a strategic contributor to the growth of our Renewables LifelineSector. Qualified candidates will be considered to work remote from anylocation in the US, or if candidate chooses may work from any of Ulteig'sexisting office locations.What You'll DoWork with internal team and external clients to develop Solar PVdesign/construction packages including solar array layouts, electricalone-lines, collection systems, and equipment mounting details for UtilityScale Solar PV systems (20-500MW+)Interact directly with clients for successful project executionPerform and/or manage electrical power system studies to support projectdesigns including energy estimates.Support development of early-stage projects with conceptual designs andmaterial take-offs.Use Excel spreadsheets, commercial and proprietary engineering software todesign Solar PV systemsLead site visits to gather notes and take pictures of existing conditions toaid in design and identify critical flawsContribute to continual development of internal solar engineering standards,toolsets and work processes.Turning initial system conceptual ideas into fully developed optimized EPCdesigns.What We Expect from YouBachelor's Degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical preferred)from an accredited program.PE registration required or ability to obtain licensure within 1 yearpreferred.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in power systems mandatory, with detaileddesign of solar projects strongly preferredExperience with ETAP, PSS/E, CYMCAP and CDEGs preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonalskills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complexinformation to all levels of employees, management, and clients.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.Due to the dynamic nature of the renewable energy market, the ability tolearn, understand, and apply new technologies is a must.Experience with estimating or designing electrical systems is preferred.Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, and constructionpractices is preferred.The position requires the ability to effectively multi-task and managenumerous projects/tasks simultaneously, frequently within aggressive andcompressed schedule.The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressureenvironment is crucial.Ability to maintain project schedule and achieve target due dates.Must have the ability to work permanently in the US.What You Can Expect from UlteigFor 75 years, we've built a culture focused on people - both our clientsand our employees.
