May require an associate's degree in a related area and at least 3 yearor equivalent experience in the field or in a related area. Substitutions: Accredited college training may substitute for therequired work experience, with a maximum substitution of four (4) years. (Fifteen (15) semester hours in Information Technology or a relatedarea is required.) Accredited graduate training in the above area maysubstitute for the required work experience, with a maximum substitution oftwo (2) years. Successfully completion of an Information Technology Certificationprogram, may substitute for the required work experience with a maximumsubstitution of two (2) years. (Proof of certification must accompany application.) One (1) yearof work experience as a Systems Administrator-Associate and Help DeskCoordinator-Intermediate may substitute for all of the required experience. The right candidate will have experience working in a fast pacedenvironment providing technical support via the phone, email and remoteconnection to the user's device. This position requires patience and excellent verbal communications skillsin an environment where the user's first priority is serving the citizens ofJefferson County. The best candidate will come with experience in providing support over thephone for Microsoft products such as O365, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint,Word, etc. Teams would be a plus. Cyber security awareness is mandatory. A candidate with experience in a virtual environment is necessary andVMWare Horizon is a plus. This position may require the candidate to be on-site two days a week withprecautions in place for COVID-19. If the candidate is unwilling to report on-site, please do not submit them. All other hours will be working from home with county provided equipment.
