Position: Engineer III
Location: Lakewood Office
Firm: BG Buildingworks, Inc. (BG) is a mid-size mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology, lighting, acoustics engineering design and facility commissioning consulting firm. We have multiple offices located in the Western United States including Avon, Colorado; Denver, Colorado, Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. BG provides a wide spectrum of consulting services related to building and infrastructure design, operation, commissioning and sustainability. Services are provided nationwide and include homes, healthcare, government, education, commercial/mixed-use and hospitality clients. BG has an opportunity for a motivated Engineer III
Increasingly responsible role in projects and independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on moderately complex projects.
Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates design details, plans and drawings within assigned task areas of project work
Conceptualizes the initial design approach for phases of large facility type projects, or has overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope.
Reviews plans and prepares or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Assists with and provides engineering correspondence on projects.
Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates engineering work. Also supervises the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies
Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
Helps supervise, schedule and check work of junior staff
Maintains highly satisfied clients.
Demonstrates a developing competence across all technical areas of their work (computer, technical writing, verbal communication, presentation skills; and); learns from experiences; seeks feedback from more experienced staff.
Assists in general company and project marketing activities.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
Exercises critical and analytical thinking
Active listening, gives full attention to what others say and asks appropriate questions
Education: BSARE, BSEE, BSME; EIT or PE certification
Experience: 4-5+ years
