Senior Software Engineer
The Meridian team leads Aruba’s location services strategy by leveraging our customer’s wireless infrastructure to help locate people, places, and things within their indoor spaces. Our team builds best in class asset tracking and indoor navigation tools to empower Aruba’s customers to enhance their users’ experiences with location as a service. We believe that the indoor location services market will continue to grow and become an increasingly essential part of every large venue in the world.
Although fully remote now, most of the team resides in Portland, Oregon. We strive to provide an ideal work-life balance by maintaining a small team feel while leveraging the vast resources provided by our much larger Aruba family.
How you’ll make your mark:
Design and implement everything from APIs to backend systems across a range of technologies to support new and improved functionality that meets product needs.
Lead the design and implementation of complex systems end to end, whether it be a new service to power new functionality or data pipelines to ingest large volumes of data.
Provides domain-specific expertise to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
Proactively move the technology base to use the latest tools, frameworks, and development standards for best performance; considering costs and scale.
Participate in all phases of the software development cycle as part of a cross-functional agile team.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
Support existing production code and improve performance and customer experience.
You have Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
You have experience in Go, Python or C++ to develop backend micro services based applications
You have working with modern cloud based micro service architectures and experience with Docker and Kubernetes for developing containers.
You have good knowledge of concurrency, resiliency and caching
You are a strong written and verbal communicator with good analytical and problem solving skills
You are familiar with Redis & Kafka or equivalent technologies and concepts
You are Familiar working within agile development, Git tools, and Unix environments
You have the ability to write readable and testable code
