Robert Half International Staff Accountant in FORT COLLINS, Colorado

Robert Half has a fulltime position open for an experienced, organized Staff Accountant at a dynamic, growing organization in the Hi Tech Software industry. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. What you get to do every single day

  • Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

  • Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Account reconciliation experience preferred

  • Adeptness in month end closings

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel

  • Proficiency in general ledger

  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience

  • Financial reporting experience

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
