PLC SOURCING PROJECT MANAGER 2 - AIRFRAME SYSTEMS - DRAKE (1801272)Position Purpose:The PLC (Product Life Cycle) Sourcing Project Manager (PM) positionexists to lead the successful collaboration and integration betweenengineering, supply base and global commodity teams throughout the PLCprocess in order to achieve an optimal product solution for Woodward.Essential Functions:Primary Global Sourcing focal point for engineering teams/projectmanagement. Has the ability and knowledge of how to get things done withinWoodward, is go to person throughout the organization for issueresolution, has experience and full proficiency of PLC, PLC sourcingprocesses, Global Sourcing requirements, quality system or businessspecific needs to get the job done and issues resolved.Global Sourcing lead on all engineering development projects of medium to highcomplexity, including platforms and proposals, with some oversite. Thisperson leads and influences others throughout the Woodward organization toensure successful implementation of supply chain strategy for developmentprojects. Additionally, leads and influences commodity members to completeactions for sub-project level activities to meet engineering project timelinesand goals.Applies Global Sourcing commodity sourcing strategies to all engineeringprojects throughout a product life cycle while ensuring alignment withWoodward's business goals and customer requirements. Develop and driveproject plans and strategically and proactively uses design to cost, riskmitigation, commercial alignment, technical requirements, early supplierinvolvement activities and other tools or processes as necessary to addressimmediate or long term project requirements.Engages and collaborates with the Global Sourcing Commodity teams tocommunicate engineering needs, gaps, and areas of concern that may requirestrategy alignment to enable Woodward success.Leads engineering teams in understanding the direction of the commoditystrategies as related to project or program requirements. Leverages GlobalSourcing supply chain strategies to propose and suggest innovative solutionsto engineering challenges.Other Functions:Responsible for completion of project deliverables which can include but isnot limited to Sourcing Strategy Checklist, Early Supplier Involvement andRisk Mitigation plans.Evaluate, identify and implement continuous improvement of appropriate PLCsourcing tools. May lead CI events.Responsible for source justification and cost verification review and approvalwith commodity teams.Responsible to prepare and present project updates, Sourcing Strategy andCommodity Reviews to a broad based audience including key leaders.Collaborates and provides some direction to Purchasing Coordinators andSub-Contract Administrators to ensure alignment of project priorities toachieve project goals.Provide mentoring and consultation to Level 1 PLC Sourcing Project Managers orPLC Sourcing Coordinators.Adheres in accordance to Woodward standard processes, standards of businessconduct and contracts in conformance with UCC, other legal principles andcompany policies.Working Environment / Physical Activities:Work is generally performed in a normal office environment; however, thejob will take them into various areas of the plant where there is a possibleexposure to noise, chemicals, dust and temperature variations.Domestic travel may be required.QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Technical competence in one or more commodities preferredSome knowledge and familiarity with technical subject matter, includingtolerances, key characteristics and drawingsKnowledge of how to get things done within the organization while consideringa broad business perspective, which includes suppliers, Woodward'sbusiness units and other internal stakeholdersEffective leadership skills including the building of effective teams, anability to manage conflict, the effective setting of priorities in the teamand an ability to clearly define roles, responsibilities
