TheNetwork Engineer, IP Admin job is a mid-level to senior role for someonewith at least 7+ years of enterprise and data center network engineeringexperience, with specific emphasis on managing IPv4 and IPv6 addressadministration for large area networks. The selected candidate will assist theclient in the establishment of the enterprise-wide IP Address strategy andexecution including IP Address allocation, reclamation, and forecastingprocedure development. The role will also entail establishing and orsupporting the necessary IPAM tool used to track all responsible IPv4 and IPv6addresses within the network. As an Engineer, you must be able toparticipate in after-hours work as required in support of systemimplementationEssential Functions, Responsibilities and Duties may include, but are notlimited to:Must be able to work across multiple operational and technical disciplines andprovide direction and oversight through product development life cycleBe a subject matter expert and provide specifications correlating to howNetwork solutions and services are defined, managed and deliveredInterface directly with internal and external clients/vendors and serve as atechnical point-of-contact for all matters related to Network Operations andArchitectureBe able to develop and communicate technical documentation of existing and newNetwork architectures within responsible area(s)Support client Network Operations team, working in a multi-vendor environmentWork with leadership to build an operational Network Center of Excellence(CoE) from the ground upPosition RequirementsMust be US Citizen with ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance7+ years of enterprise and datacenter network engineering experienceIn-depth knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP) Subnetting and IP addressmanagement for IPv4/IPv6 address blocksMaintain and create useful, accessible, IP Administration documentationthat can be shared with internal users, other teams, and auditorsTrack and monitor IP Address utilization and make recommendations based onanalysisExperience supporting IPv6 assignments/deployments, including customereducation within large scale environmentsInterface directly with internal and external clients/vendors and serve as aprimary point-of-contact for all large block IP address related inquiries andissuesFundamental understanding of the following:OSI model (primarily layers 1-4)Networking Protocols to include Spanning Tree (STP), Border Gateway(BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), static routing,ether-channel, Virtual Switching system (VSS), Virtual Routing andForwarding (VRF), switch stacking, OSI modelDomain Name System (DNS)
