That means being a team player with a knack for optimization.They're in charge of making sure that inventory processes and procedures aredone right - plus delivering on-target projections. Financial, operations,sales, delivery - this is a job that supports every corner of BMC's success.Seeking an organized, diligent, and responsible inventory controller tojoin an industry leader of building materials. In this position, you willmanage inventory through the use of a ERP system. Your primary objective willbe to ensure the accuracy of stock levels to meet daily distribution demandswhile minimizing excess supply.-Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure accurate inventory levels.-Cycle count inventory according to company procedures.-Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers andcycle counts.-Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies;troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records.-Communicate Cycle Count variances to appropriate personnel to find root causeof problems and keep the problem from reoccurring.-Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures tomaximize efficiency and cut operations costs.-Communicate with Vendors, Buyers, and Operations, to ensure timely andcost-effective return of defective, obsolete, and surplus product andobtain the most value for the company.-Maintain a working knowledge of all products manufactured and how they areassembled.-Nurture positive relationships with internal customers and provide customerservice as needed.-Other duties as assigned.Inventory Controller Requirements and Qualifications-High school diploma.-Minimum of one year of related experience in retail, wholesale,warehousing, or logistics, knowledge of building materials is a plusProficient with computers and other standard office technology, EXCELproficiency required.-Physical ability to lift 10-25 pounds and sit, climb, balance, stoop,kneel, crouch, and crawl repeatedly.-Superior organizational and communication skills.-Knowledge of Lean techniques is favorable.REQUIRED SKILLS-Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED.-Interpersonal communication, writing skills, and highly organized.-Tech-savvy with strong emphasis on Microsoft Office and Trend procurementprocedures.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE-Minimum Experience: 2 years experience in an operational staff position.
