We are seeking a Technical Writer to work full-time hours, remotely for our client in Durham, NC. This position is a 6 month contract to assist in creating new/enhancing existing knowledge articles for IT self-service. We can offer a full salaried employment option with benefits and paid vacation time.
Skills & Responsibilities:
The technical writer must have a basic conceptual understanding of information technology service desk topics (password reset, email issues, network issues, etc.) in order to write short, accurate, easy to consume knowledge articles focused on allowing end-users to more easily self-solve their day-to-day IT issues.
The technical writer will work directly with technical subject matter experts to obtain accurate technical information to create the articles.
In some instances, the technical writers will be required to re-write existing knowledge articles for publication.
The technical writer will be expected to follow the existing Knowledge Management process, including defined Knowledge Article Authoring Guidelines.
The client’s knowledge base is housed with the ServiceNow platform, so familiarity with this environment is as absolute bonus.
5+ years’ experience preferred
