Sr Revenue Cycle Specialist (Job ID: 4125)Job SummaryUnder minimal supervision, ensures optimal reimbursement for hospital orprovider billing on inpatient and outpatient accounts. Provides customerservice, billing, timely follow-up, cash application processes,reconciles payer remittance, denial management, reimbursement analysis andappeal functions for claims to government or grant funded programs,worker's compensation, and commercial insurance. Provides financialguidance on self pay accounts. Interoperates explanation of benefits.Investigates delinquent accounts for legal liability. Assists in developingand implementing unit training materials. Acts as liaison support between theHospital and Physician Business Services departments, third party payers andother Denver Health departments. Utilizes various software applications andinformation systems to perform work processes. This position is a lead roleand should be able to assist co-workers with questions and the supervisor withother duties as needed.ResponsibilitiesKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEducation: Requires a high school diploma or GED certificate. AnAssociate's Degree in business or related field preferred Experience:Typically, five years or more of increasing/progressive experience in ahospital/medical office setting performing a variety of duties. Knowledge,Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of insurance benefit plansand explanation of benefits. Have current knowledge of regulatory requirementsand codes. Skill sets to include 10-key by touch, typing a minimum of 25words per minute (WPM) and, intermediate skills in word processing andspreadsheet applications. Must have strong written and verbal communicationskills, analytical thinking, high level of computer accuracy, andorganization and problem solving skills. Ability to prioritize work activitieswith minimal supervision, in an individual and team setting. Easily adapt tochange. Ability to utilize various software applications and informationsystems to perform work processes.
