We scale the organization by automating manual tasks,eliminating processes, streamlining workflows, creating tools that allowmarketers to do more, and using technology to replace decision making. Wedecrease the amount of the time it takes to get the right marketing message infront of our customers providing the best possible customer experience to allAmazon.com devices customers.Our core focus is to support online marketing initiatives both on and offAmazon.com. Our online efforts scale to support the traffic of all Amazon.comcustomers (ie: we create manual and automated tools to drive marketingefforts on the gateway and device detail pages). Our goal is to turn a hightouch manual marketing processes into a machine driven automated solution thatis capable of delivering a personalized marketing message to every AmazoncustoOur technology stack is recently built, a rarity at Amazon, and as suchrelies on AWS technologies and new front end technologies. Our front end isbuilt in Vue.js and React.js, while our backend is comprised of AWS WebGateway, Lambda (Node.js and Java) with a Dynamo backend scaled to meetthe demands of Amazon.com transactions. Come help us change how we communicateto our customers!The successful candidate will:* Be responsible for the end to end ownership of technology teams, settingthe vision and strategy for the product area.* Be responsible for setting the technological vision for developing oursystems to serve Amazon's needs* Build and manage great software engineers that are responsible fordeveloping and maintaining software that optimizes merchandising efforts* Be a champion of engineering and operational excellence: establishgroup-wide metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellenceand a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvement, you willneed to be comfortable working in a "deep dive" environment* Show strong business and technical judgment that will accelerate time tomarket of releases, while incrementally moving our services towards the longterm vision* Be responsible for mentoring and developing Senior Engineers* Represent the technical organization and evangelize the work to seniorleadership* Raise the bar on technical excellent, show thought leadership, andcommunicate well to different audiences* 7+ years of experience workingdirectly with engineering teams* Experience in partnering with product and program management teams* 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineersBasic Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field* 6-10+ years of management experience (managing manager's and engineers)* 10+ years of relevant development and design experience* Experience with high scalability requirements* Experience with service-oriented architectures and web services* Experience designing distributed systems* Experience with employee development, performance management anddelivering results.* Problem-solving skills and the abilities to analyze quantitatively, scopetechnical requirements and effectively prioritize program deliverablesessential to team succ
