USA Millwork Senior Network Engineer in Denver, Colorado
REPORTS TO: VP, Technology
Travel: As required to perform job function, anticipate up to 30% (post-COVID)
The Network Engineer/Senior Network Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for effective designing, provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of network hardware (firewalls, switches, routers, SD-WAN, etc.), software and related infrastructure solutions. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continued innovation as it pertains to the Company?s infrastructure. This includes ensuring 24/7/365 uptime across the Company?s infrastructure including its SaaS environments. The successful candidate will have a track record of world class service and support at a hybrid ?Cloud first? SaaS/On-prem company with locations spread across the US.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with ability to manage and deliver timely and on-budget projects.
Install new / reverse engineer existing firewalls, network routers and switches, and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and documentation.
Contribute to and maintain security standards.
Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all network hardware, system performance, resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Upgrade and configure network system software that supports USAM infrastructure applications per project or operational needs.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
Serve as a Tier 3 level of support for user base.
Bachelor (4-year) degree in business, management information systems, computer science, or relevant experience.
Advanced degree with emphasis in information technology highly desirable
Microsoft certifications highly desirable
Minimum six years network engineering/administration experience
SaaS company experience with security as part of the culture highly desirable
Network Administration/Engineer certifications highly desirable
Expert level knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IP address management
Network Performance Tuning, LAN Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation
Understanding of what ?good looks like? at a medium sized corporation, with startup ?can do? mentality
Prior M&A experience integrating disparate systems/hardware/software, etc.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Team-wide and cross-functional collaboration skills sufficient to work through challenges collaboratively
Technical breadth of experience beneficial for USAM?s startup-style environment with a focus on cost effective and scalable solutions
Self-motivation, and a strong desire to continue to learn and grow technically
Excellent attention to detail, especially with respect to project management, IT Team cross-training and documentation
