The Senior Estimator will provide leadership,coordination, and final preparation of trade estimates (mechanical,electrical and/or plumbing) on large and complex workprojects.ResponsibilitiesLead estimating efforts on large and complex projects:Provide conceptual estimates, detailed estimates, detailed self-performwork estimates and cost modelsOrganize, research and strategically plan for trade estimate preparation,pricing, scheduling and final submission to the customer.Determine which subcontractors to include in bidding processDetermine pricing to be used in final estimateProvide work assignments to the MEP estimating team and ensure accurateestimating information provided is incorporated into final estimate Includes, but not limited to: quantity surveys and cost estimates,subcontractor proposals, research on tax laws, collective bargainingagreements, permits, etcWrite and submit Request for InformationMaintain regular interface and open communication:Interface regularly with team members, owners, architects and engineers toensure complete understanding of the project scopeEnsure that team members, including subcontractors, understand initialproject requirements and ongoing updates to those requirementsOther duties, as assigned includingResearch and analyze historical project data for application to currentprojectAssist in selecting building systemsAssist in selecting software programs to be utilizedAssist in project scheduling QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor degree in Estimating, Construction Engineering,Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, ElectricalEngineering, or equivalent is preferredMinimum six years in the estimating field, preferably experience with aMechanical or Electrical ContractorLEED AP, DBIA professionalMicrosoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at anintermediate levelProficient with building/estimating techniques and software: ISqFt,ICE/Bid2Win, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam/PDF, Google EarthProven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projectsDetail orientated sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksPossess basic understanding of construction law and generally acceptedbusiness practicesMortenson is an EOE/Affirmative Action/M/F/Veteran/Disabled employer.
