The State Director, Shared Services performs and/or overseesoperations, testing, accountability, state reporting and data servicesof multiple school operations with an emphasis on compliance activities at alllevels, internal and external to the K12 organization. He/she isresponsible for directing the short-term and long-term strategic goals. TheState Director provides leadership, thoughtful execution of initiatives andensures the shared services departments are operating effectively andefficiently. The position provides solutions for complex issues and teams withinternal, external stakeholders and vendors to move initiatives forwardwhile adhering to state, local, federal requirements and best practices. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enableindividuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. * Provides leadership exhibiting professionalism and high standards thatcelebrate staff achievements; * Often works with multiple Boards of Directors for two or moreschools; manages regulatory complexities and political sensitivities;implements the schools' missions, visions, and strategic planninginitiatives driven by K12 and these Boards of Directors; * Oversees all shared services departments (operations, testing,accountability, state reporting and data) for all K12 schools and programsacross the state; Manages annual school evaluation and accreditation processes * Oversees budgets for departmental staffing, facilities and alloffice spending and services for schools within the state including digitalfile maintenance; Develops and manages relationships with educationvendors, the districts, state and other education stakeholders; Acts aspoint-of-contact and manages reporting issues including all local, state,and federal reporting requirements; * Consults with K12's legal team, the Board of Directors, andHuman Resources to appropriately handle any legal issues; ensures compliancewith all local, state, and federal laws; * Works closely with government affairs team to support and advance theonline educational movement within the state; * Develops plans and policies for the shared services departmentsserving multiple schools in the state and submits them to Board of Directorsfor approval; ensures policies and programs are carried out appropriately byall students, parents, and staff; * Ensures school program are in alignment with authorizing agencyrequirements; * Supervisesshared services administrators assists with a wide varietyof personnel support issues; * Effectively recruits, hires, and retains highly qualified staff;develops effective staff members through an ongoing evaluation process andprofessional development; * Oversees Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables functions for theschool. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 5-10 Full-timeEquivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries outsupervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policiesand applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, andtraining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressingcomplaints and resolving problems. Minimum Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree AND * Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience OR
