The Adult Infusion Center RN oversees and directsthe care of the patient with hematologic/oncologic diagnosis receiving carein the outpatient setting. The Adult Infusion Center RN is responsible for thecare of medical and surgical patients. Serves as primary nurse leading thecollaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for patients inneed of intravenous treatments or cellular therapeutic procedures. Determinesand appropriately cannulates venipuncture sites in order to administerintravenous therapy treatments. Provides information to patients and familiesregarding intravenous therapy. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the Stateof Colorado as a Registered Nurse; BLS Healthcare provider. ONSchemotherapy provider card required within the first 9 months of hire. If thestaff member is prn, they will not be required to have ONS ChemotherapyProvider Card because they will not have enough exposure tochemotherapy/biotherapy to maintain competency in this area.B. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.C. Experience: One year experience in acute care or infusion centerpreferred.D. Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively withpatients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure qualitypatient care.
