The 2nd shift Production Supervisor is responsible forsupervising and training manufacturing personnel in a manner consistent withCompany policies and procedures. Other Supervisor responsibilities includeplanning and managing the day to day allocation of resources (equipment,people, materials, and systems) in order to efficiently, safely, andcost-effectively achieve performance targets. Performance improvementstrategies such as coaching, training, and developing employees are alsoexpected. The Production Supervisor also implements and ensures adherence tocompany policies and procedures. Second shift hours are typically Mondaythrough Friday, 5:00 pm to 3:00 am. These positions may have daily orweekend overtime as dictated by the production schedule.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise personnel and coordinate production work-flow.Ensure all production schedules are completed at the end of the shift and thatcompany quality standards are met each day.Track absenteeism, review and approve employees time worked in timekeepingsystem.Ensure that all personnel, prior to the start of shift, are wearing thecorrect safety equipment and that safety awareness is maintained throughoutthe shift.Ensure that all safety and incident reporting procedures are followed as wellas all individuals are properly trained and their job functions are beingperformed correctly.Report to maintenance and/or safety personnel any safety hazards orequipment malfunctions and/or maintenance.Administer performance evaluations for direct reports.Suggest and/or initiate personnel actions such as promotions, hires,transfers, pay adjustments, and terminations and ensure compliance withthe Companys affirmative action policy, practices and procedures.Investigate and resolve employee relation issues/conflicts.Complete verbal and written disciplinary warnings/counseling in accordancewith the companys policy and proceduresRegular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence toall safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.Skills, Knowledge, and Ability RequirementsTo be considered for a Production Supervisor position, the followingconditions must be met:Minimum 5 years supervisory experience, up to 25 team members.Able to plan, allocate resources, manage production and coordinate peopleand equipmentStrong interpersonal and communication skillsProblem analysis resolutionAble to read and perform basic mathematical calculations as well as read andwrite measurements in numbers, fractions and decimals at a high schooleducation or equivalent levelAble to read and properly utilize a tape measureExperience in glass/metal industry preferredMust be at least 18 years old.Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels.
