Description of Job
This position is a member of the production staff in a 24x7 print and mail operation. Each of the three shifts has one designated working Shift Lead and at least one of the following: Inserter operators, mail sorting operators, bindery and print staff, metering and package handling staff.
This position is hired based on experience in a specific production discipline in mail or print operations related to those services provided by Integrated Document Solutions. This position will be expected to cross-train to learn how to operate a variety of print and mail production equipment and perform associated tasks.
Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of equipment operation and job processing while meeting or exceeding established production standards.
Operate high speed scanning equipment. Operate Continuous feed full color inkjet press including all finishing attachments. Operate high speed laser printing equipment both monochrome/MICR and color to reproduce printed work.
Position programs the inkjet press and digital equipment via computer to complete jobs according to the specifications on the request.
Operate, set up and maintain a variety of high speed mail intelligent inserting equipment, metering equipment, and high speed mail sorter.
Operate bindery equipment including cutter, MBO folder, Bourg collator, etc.
Perform necessary quality control duties on all IDS production equipment to include but not limited to the continuous feed inkjet press, digital presses, bindery and mail processing functions; to ensure the best output of each job.
Perform quality assurance checks on printed material being processed to ensure that jobs are completed to customer satisfaction and meeting the IDS Print and Mail Operations quality standards. These checks include assessing the print quality, validating customer specifications.
Uses the production tracking system IDS Denver Enterprise32 to manage all jobs, downtime and production guidelines, including activity reporting for production volumes. Enters all required data for waste tracking, production standards and billing purposes.
Fully documents machine maintenance and services calls placed.
Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:
One year of production equipment operating experience with continuous feed ink jet printing, high speed digital printing and operating bindery equipment OR one year of production equipment operating experience operating an automated high speed inserter, automated high speed envelope sorter and metering equipment.
Experience operating both mail and print production equipment.
Experience with Ricoh IP5000 ink jet machines and Ricoh or Kodak Digimaster 125EX.
Experience in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem solving skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Conditions of Employment
1) A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. 2) Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift including holidays and overtime.
3) Must be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
