Navigant Consulting's strategic advisory practice provides objective, practical, results-oriented assistance to address the business challenges facing healthcare executives and their organizations including: Enterprise-wide strategic plans; business plan development and validation; program and service line analysis; new market opportunity and strategic positioning assessment; market research, analysis and forecasting; pricing and reimbursement strategy, design and implementation; and physician collaboration.
This role can be based in any of the following locations: Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Washington, D.C.
We are currently seeking a Managing Consultant with prior healthcare consulting experience with provider sponsored health plans and/or provider population health operations to participate on a variety of strategic, financial and operational planning projects for provider organizations and provider sponsored health plans related to healthcare reform. The successful candidate will:
Manage significant client engagements and day-to-day relationships
Oversee, mentor and develop senior consultants and analysts
Execute client deliverables, including synthesizing the strategic, financial and operational implications of analyses
Assist where necessary with data acquisition, integration and analysis to support a wide range of payer and provider analytics including financial analysis, clinical and operational benchmarking
Regularly present results and updates to clients
Master’s degree in business, management, health policy and/or administration required
5+ years of previous work experience in a healthcare consulting firm or a combination of healthcare industry and consulting experience
Provider-side experience in a health system, hospital and/or medical group
Solid background in broad-based provider financial modeling
Project and/or program management experience
Capacity to manage multiple work streams, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Excellent quantitative analysis skills
Demonstrated excellence in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as the ability to conduct research
Track record of efficiency, flexibility, creative problem-solving, self-motivated, analytical and highly-organized
Proven ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within team structures
Entrepreneurial spirit and excitement toward promoting Navigant’s growing healthcare practice
The ability to travel up to 75%
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Able to travel via airplane with minimal assistance to client sites across the US and potentially internationally
Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day
Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
