Join our team andreimagine what your career can be.Position PurposeAs a GIS Technician, you will assist with a variety of tasks including thedesign, development and maintenance of maps and technical drawings. Thisposition ensures technical portion of projects are executed in-line withKLJ's quality expectations and standards that ultimately deliver on ourstrategy of providing an exceptional client experience.Essential FunctionsUse GIS software and equipment to assist with preparation of maps andtechnical drawingsUtilize effective written and oral communicationProject team coordination and communication and willingness to workinteroffice and across disciplinesResponsibilitiesAssist with the creation and maintenance of base layer databasesAccountable for following direction, meeting quality expectations, andtimeliness of completed tasksBecome familiar with maps and related material for each project and be able toutilize the information appropriatelyAssist with collection of field dataUnderstand and follow company established standard procedures for filestructure and projectsKeep up-to-date with GIS equipment, software, and training to improveefficiency and accuracyQualificationsA high school diploma or GEDPursuing a degree in GIS Technology, or have a GIS Certificate of completionMust have a valid driver's license and be able to operate motorized vehiclesHours and TravelThis position requires the individual work 40 or more hours per week with95% of the time spent in the office and 5% out of the office.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described represent those that must be met by an employeeto successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
