We are looking for a driven and curious Geospatial Information Expert to support our Urban Infrastructure Vulnerabilities initiative.

As a key emmber of our team in Colorado, we will task you with d eveloping Geospatial Solutions to better address the vulnerabilities of aging infrastructure for capital improvement planning (CIP) at the city, campus, and military installation scales.We’ll ask you to h elp define the language, indirect costs, and key performance indicators that will better enable senior urban and resilience planners to be empowered stakeholders in the CIP process as well as furthering Jacobs as the thought-leader in urban infrastructure vulnerabilities, resilience, and engineered solutions.

You will be centered around maintaining Jacobs as the leader in communicating existing urban infrastructure vulnerabilities to urban and resilience planners to enhance the CIP process. You’ll spend 25% of the position supporting the strategic development of Jacobs Solutions, and associated QA/QC, to better integrate existing Jacobs’ resilience and urban planning units. We’ll have you spend 50% of the position communicating (reports, presentations, other communications) Geospatial Solutions outcomes to Jacobs’ clients. The remaining 25% of the position would be focused on developing sales messaging through existing Jacobs’ units by enhancing the necessity to address existing urban infrastructure in a more holistic methodology.

  • Responsible for the strategic direction, development, and QA/QC of WISRD

  • Responsible for communicating outcomes to clients

  • Responsible for sales and presentation to clients

  • Building the practice of communicating – and characterizing – the hazards of existing infrastructure to urban and resilience planners

  • Build the connection of the characterizing of hazards by planners to engineered solutions, e.g., utilidors.

  • Support proposal and sales efforts to develop new business

  • Position, Qualify, Proposal, Negotiate, Interview

  • Support marketing as appropriate

  • Speak and present at conferences and events

  • Write blogs and articles

  • Write case studies

  • Use social media to generate interest in Jacobs Solutions

  • Serve to further enhance Jacobs as a thought-leader in urban resilience (developed and developing cities)

  • Works to build and maintain strong relationships with partners throughout the world

  • Coaches, develops, and mentors staff to understand and promote existing infrastructure in urban resilience

  • Coordinate across regions, business units, and lines of business to optimize resource management and provide opportunities for staff and profitable growth

  • Promote a culture of caring, quality, and safety to create an incident and injury free culture

  • Masters or higher degree in Civil Engineering

  • Experience in urban planning, asset management, and sustainable development

  • Experience in business development, both tactical and strategic

  • Experience in infrastructure hazards analyses and communications to non-technical decision-makers

  • Experience integrating the dependence of infrastructure with diverse city systems to support wise decision making

  • Experience in partner and customer relationship development

  • Experience in proposal development, writing, and coordination

Minimum Requirements:

  • 20+ years working in the civil engineering and sustainability fields

  • 5+ years of people management experience

  • Reputation as a trusted and respected leader/influencer within the sustainable and resilient infrastructure planning communities

  • Ability to formulate and convey a vision and lead others towards a desired objective

  • Must be team player possessing strong social, communication, planning and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, collaboration platforms and the cloud

  • Must be digitally and technologically savvy

  • Ability to pass background checks

Typical salary range for this position is $137,000 to $215,250 , and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
