Posting Details Posting Number S00022 Position Title Gallery 199 Assistant Position Number Student Work-Study Hourly Wage13.50 EmployeeCategory Student Department Art Location College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Position SummaryGallery 199 Assistants will help with the maintenance, cleaning, repair ofthe gallery, while keeping active communication with faculty and supervisor.Duties may include but are not limited to the following: regularly repairingand painting walls/floors/pedestals, cleaning the gallery whennecessary, replacing and troubleshooting light fixtures, creating andmanaging gallery-related documents such as protocols/guidelines, andassisting faculty for gallery-related issues. Expected work hours aregenerally 10-15 hours a week with a possibility of negotiation. The workschedule is often flexible and dependent on the course-related critiquesscheduled to be held at the gallery for each semester. Gallery Assistants areexpected to work around the gallery's schedule that varies weekly and toadhere to the regular building hours.Because the Department of Art represents and works with a diverse community ofindividuals, all student employees are expected to assist the department increating a receptive, positive, inclusive, and equitable space forfaculty, students, and staff to conduct business, be productive andcollaborative, and make genuine human connections. Duties/ResponsibilitiesRepair and Paint Walls and Floor (50%)*Spackle, sand, and paint walls regularly*Paint and repair pedestals when necessary*Repaint floor when necessaryCommunicate with faculty, supervisor, staff, and students (25%)*Take inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables and partner withstaff to order replenishment*Create and manage textual and/or visual protocols, guidelines, andother informational documents for the purpose of maintaining the gallery*Keep open and active communication with faculty supervisor regarding thegalleryClean Gallery Environment (15%)*Clean, organize, and maintain floor and storage closet regularlyReplace light bulbs and troubleshoot track lighting fixtures (10%) Required Qualifications**MUST BE A STUDENT ENROLLED AT AN APPROVED COLORADO HIGHER EDUCATIONINSTITUTION***Candidates must be eligible for Federal, Colorado or No-need work study.*Knowledge/experience of wall repair, basic wood construction, lightingis preferred.*Candidates are expected to use a ladder, hand tools, power tools,various repair materials/devices (i.e. cordless drill, hammer, saws,nails/screws, putty, sandpaper, etc.)*Excellent work ethics (being punctual, reliable, and able to work withlimited supervision)*Effective communication skills in both verbal and written forms.*Attention to details and creative problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications*ART/
