Financial Counselor, Admission and Registration (Job ID: 4090)Job SummaryUnder general supervision, protects the financial standing of the hospitalby making financial arrangements for patients without insurance or withinadequate insurance coverage. Collects required deposits from patients andguardians. Assists patients in obtaining financial sponsorship from outsideagencies and charitable programs when financial need is indicated. Coordinatesacceptable payment plans with Patient Accounting and Physician Billing.Education:Graduation from High School or GED Certificate; 2 years of college and/orAssociate's Degree preferred.Experience:Typically, two years in a hospital/medical office setting preferred orrelevant experience in a customer-service business, with the ability torelate to a diverse patient population.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bilingual skills are preferred. Knowledge of PC applications (Windows)with an emphasis on Excel and/or healthcare applications. Ability tocomplete 25 wpm typing. Ability to prioritize and perform a multitude ofduties is required.
