Emergency Medicine APP (I) (Job ID: 2708)Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC) is recruiting for anintermittent/PRN Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join ouradvanced practitioner team in the Emergency Department. The EmergencyDepartment at DHMC sees more than 75,000 patients per year, serves as thehost for the Denver Health Residency in Emergency Medicine, provides medicaldirection for the Denver Health Paramedic Division and 911 system for the Cityand County of Denver and is an academic affiliate of the University ofColorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences.A level one trauma center,the adult ED encompasses 38 dedicated acute treatment spaces and a 9-bed EDobservation unit.Staffing is provided by board-certified emergencyphysicians, advanced care providers, PGY 1- 4 residents, emergencymedicine subspecialty fellows.As Colorado's primary safety net institutionDHMC provides over 300 million dollars in uncompensated care every tear.Aminimum of one year experience as an advanced care provider in an ED settingisUnder the supervision of a physician, the PA/NP performs professionalmedical work in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of patientsaccording to statutory limitations.Examines and diagnoses patients anddevelops treatment plans. Performs testing, referral to physicians asneeded, writes prescriptions, and performs administrative procedureswithin the scope of expertise, protocols and available equipment.
