DaVita Director, Strategy and Special Projects, Contracting in Denver, Colorado
We’re looking for an ambitious, analytical, and strategic teammate ready to dive deep into the world of hospital partnerships, network strategy, and contract negotiations – someone driven to get deals with our network of partner hospitals structured, negotiated, and completed the right way. This teammate will be accountable for a large portion of our hospital partnerships and hospital network strategy nationally.
Daily responsibilities will be heavily external facing – this teammate can expect to negotiate and maintain relationships with the contracting VPs and CFOs at our partner hospitals. Additionally, this teammate will have internal executive exposure as he or she works with our Market Presidents and CFOs to provide the vision, leadership, planning, and management to make high-stakes, long-term decisions about our hospital networks.
Accountability for portfolio in excess of $1B in dollars spent on care delivery
50+ hospital relationships to maintain
High stakes negotiations and decision making
Hands on coaching from a high-performing, experienced contracting team
The ability to dramatically impact financial and clinical performance from Day 1
The Director will be part of the National Network Strategy and Contracting Team, playing a pivotal role in the overall direction of the business, and with opportunity for impact and advancement within the team and DaVita Medical Group. The Director will join a team of highly motivated individuals with previous leadership experience across an array of healthcare verticals, consulting and banking.

Must have experiences & capabilities:
8+ years of business experience in a results-driven environment (or equivalent, i.e. 2+ years’ experience post grad school)
Strong “general athlete” ability to have impact across a range of functions and disciplines
Ability to engage directly with senior level executives, internally and externally
Strategic mind – drive to create solutions that minimize unnecessary complexity
Strong prioritization skills and ability to juggle many projects simultaneously
Team player with the ability to sell change effectively and influence others

Customer service mindset to internal stakeholders
Ability to work in a very fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Desire to have fun and make a difference
MBA, MHA, or JD. Strong preference for candidates from top-ranked institutions.
Partnership / deal / transaction experience
Relevant health plan, hospital, or provider experience (Medicare Advantage, Commercial HMO, Managed Medicaid)
