Summary of Position: The/Data Analyst/is the key division/facility resource that is responsible for ensuring compliance with Meaningful Use and for ensuring the quality of the data input into the computerized documentation system. Responsible for coordinating the completion of project assessments, quality of data input by users, verification of appropriate sign off of orders within the computerized system. This individual participates in the company-wide community for CPOE, and works with their division peers to ensure advanced clinical applications are well supported, data is correct and appropriate and meaningful use is achieved throughout the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Ensure a standardized and consistent approach relating to Data Reporting and Analytics. • With direction and supervision, acts as subject matter specialist to assist development of the appropriate strategies, plans, tools and approaches to ensure successful implementation of DQM reports, dashboards and scorecards. • Works to think analytically and critically to lead reporting standardization and automating efforts. • Present data formally and informally and facilitate discussion regarding data outputs. • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams using data to improve usage and operational workflow. • Provide moderate analysis and ad hoc operational reports as requested by Group, Division, and Corporate leaders. • Ability to understand data in order to develop and design reports. • Identify reporting needs to support usage goals throughout the Facility, Division, and Group levels of HCA. • Obtain field feedback on usage activities to continuously improve data quality output. • Format, run, distribute, and interpret reports using the available tools. • With direction and supervision, provide in depth “what if” analysis of data using available tools. • Escalate to and collaborate with supervisors on issues and risks to identify solutions. • Other duties assigned as necessary, to support Clinical Informatics team.
Qualifications: • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Words, Power Point.. • Working knowledge of clinical data within a healthcare system. • Ability to communicate and facilitate topics clearly and effectively across department lines; working inside peer groups and receiving guidance from supervisor. • Demonstrated oral, written and technical communication skills required. • Knows and applies the fundamental concepts and principles gained through experience to solve straightforward problems and moderately complex problems. • Demonstrated presentation/public speaking skills and experience required. Possesses good organizational skills, as well as visual and verbal presentation skills. • Working knowledge of the health care industry including EHR strategies and applications, clinical workflow issues, regulatory compliance and federal mandates preferred. • Works with direct supervision and developing demonstrated skills to work independently. • Possesses interpersonal skills to work in a high profile and fast paced team. • Technical aptitude to learn and adapt to new industry applications and tools. • Typical work week hours can vary depending on workload and project deliverables.
Education and Experience • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. • Specific experience in the areas of data analytics preferred. • 1-3 years of relevant work experience required. • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft office, specifically Excel
