Must have experience operating asphalt paving machines in alltypes of asphalt paving (Roadways, Commercial Parking Lots, andPatching). You will be responsible with the daily maintenance and theefficient working condition of the equipment, conversing with screedoperators to ensure we are providing a smooth surface, assist guiding anddirecting dump trucks while backing into hopper, in addition with performingother various duties on company construction projects as needed. Saidoperator must partner with foreman and other crew members to apply asphalt perplan specifications and perform tasks of other positions as instructed by crewforeman to insure daily schedules/estimates are met.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enablequalified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Ability to efficiently operate and train on the following equipment orequivalent to: Asphalt Laydown Machine - CAT AP1055F or AP655F; Weiler P385BOperator will control material taken into the paver and the depths of materialdistributed through the machine.Understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including grades,drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oilconsistencies, compaction, rolling patterns and other details related toasphalAssists paving crews with various duties such as: Shoveling, raking,safely backing of dump trucks into paver, operating asphalt paving equipment.Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work atthe designated start time.Learn, follow and lead safety regulations.Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utilitylines, other equipment, other works, and vehicle traffic in roadways.Repair and maintain equipment, making emergency adjustments or assistingwith major repairs as necessary.Keep records of material or equipment usage or problems encountered.Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers, supervisorsand or perform other duties within the company as needed.Ensure we are providing a safe, clean and quality work site.REQUIREMENTS:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Valid Driver's LicenseAbility to pass a background investigation and drug screeningCurrent (within 3 years of hire date) Federal OSHA 10-hour ConstructionCertificate (or completion of the course within 60 days of employment)OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (hard hat, eye andear protection, safety vest, gloves, dust mask or respirator, fallprotection gear, etc.).
