This is a 10-monthtemporary, non-benefits eligible coaching position. Applicants need to beavailable 5 days per week during the day for lesson observations,debriefs, and meetings with alternative licensure teachers. The successfulapplicant will coach candidates in accordance with Teacher Quality Standardsand assist each candidate in becoming an effective teacher in a variety ofsettings. The successful applicant must have the ability to work with and besensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population. Duties/ResponsibilitiesAssist alternative licensure candidates in meeting the requirements of theColorado Teacher Quality Standards.Conduct a minimum of 10 school visits for each assigned alternative licensurecandidate over a 10-month period.Provide feedback on each lesson observed.Complete and submit observation reports for each observation.Evaluate alternative licensure candidate's proficiency on Colorado TeacherQualities Standards.Communicate with Alternative Licensure Instructor regarding candidate'sperformance.Attend all required Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) meetings.Necessary Special Requirement: This position requires travel to and fromteaching sites throughout the week. The final candidate must be able toperform this essential function of the job with or without accommodation. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in education or related field from anaccredited college or university.Teaching experience in a public or private school setting.Has held a license to teach. Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a related field.At least 5 years of teaching experience in a public or private school setting.Supervisory experience in an education setting (e.g. as a principal,department chair, university supervisor, or as a previousmentor/cooperating teacher).Experience in supervising or mentoring new teachers.Holds a current Colorado teaching license.
