Swanson Rink, Inc. Airport Electrical Systems Engineer in Denver, Colorado

Performs Analysis and Design on Process Systems for Airport projects inaccordance with good engineering practice and Swanson Rink standard of care.Airport systems include Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), PassengerBoarding Bridges (PBB) and all associated sub systems, Hydrant FuelingSystems and passenger Security Screening Check Point (SSCP) systems. Worksclosely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Senior Engineers.Essential Job Responsibilities-Demonstrates knowledge of power design including UPS and generator supportsystems, preparation of electrical one-line diagrams, short circuit andvoltage drop calculations and fuse and circuit breaker coordination studies.-Familiar with industrial controls including systems architecture diagrams,HMI's, software and PLC deployment and related sensing and control devicesrelated to Airport systems.-Familiar with other related building technology systems including firealarm, security, telecommunications and audio/visual equipment.-Design functions include preparation of airport systems studies, systemssimulations, Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), flow diagrams, generalsystems layout, 3-D modeling, cost estimates and control system design.-Performs necessary design calculations to determine systems performancerequirements and criteria compliance.-Prepares reports related to all design functions and develops specificationsto establish systems parameters to meet project criteria.-Makes presentations to clients, and/or in front of groups.-During project construction, reviews contractor and vendor submittals,responds to contractor and owner Requests for Information (RFI's), andperforms periodic onsite inspections to confirm conformance with theconstruction documents.-Performs onsite testing and commissioning of completed systems.-Develops and maintain good client relations.-Proposes innovative solutions and strategizes with team to resolve concernsand conflicts.-Shares knowledge acquired at seminars and training events with team to ensureteam stays current on industry standards.Basic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, from anABET-accredited four-year college or university.3 - 5 years' experience preferably in design of airport systems.Registration as a Professional Engineer preferred.Knowledge, Skill, Ability-Excellent communications skills-Familiar with airport practices and procedures-Familiarity with engineering economics, statistical methods-Familiarity with detailed cost estimating techniques and tools-Report writing and interpretation-Familiarity with controls systems design-Familiarity with project design costing, scheduling, budgeting and timemanagement-Must be able to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA)security screening requirements-Some travel is requiredMust be authorized to work in the United StatesEEO/AA - M/F/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities Employer
