DescriptionStart your career with the industry leader!Airgas is the nation's largest distributor of packaged atmospheric gases foruse in medical, industrial and specialty applications and is part of AirLiquide, the world leader in gases, technologies and services for Industryand Health.Things you should know about working at Airgas:We're committed to providing one of the safest work environments, whichmeans training, daily safety tips, and making safety our number one priority.What this means for you!Our drivers deliver gases and hard goods to customers on a daily route andthey are they are the heart and soul of our company!You'll work a Monday thru Friday workweek, daytime hours.We offer an excellent benefits package unsurpassed by anyone in the industry.Bring you experienced customer service skills, safe driving record andattention to detail and come be part of this exciting team!QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSClass B CDL driver's license Hazmat can be obtained after offer.Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).Current Medical Examiner's Card.At least one years experience driving commercial vehicle.Ability to read and comprehend safety data sheets.Ability to routinely lift 25 - 50 lbs., and occasionally lift 51 - 80 lbs.Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bendingalso required.Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with differentpersonalities and backgrounds.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must have basic computer experience.Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -15 to 100 degrees.Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation fordrivers.Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.REVIOUS EXPERIENCE DESIREDSome basic knowledge or experience in welding.Some experience in handling compressed gases.Customer service or sales experience.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the Company.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units ofmeasure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bargraphs.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requiredto work during prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping,crouching, reaching, grasping, and feeling.The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
