Job Summary

Cosmic AES is looking for a Systems and Test Engineer to support programs across the Geolocation Portfolio. This position will provide systems engineering support, test engineering support, subject matter expertise, and technical management for multiple projects within the Geolocation portfolio. The applicant must be self-motivated, self-disciplined, with good communications skills, and a demonstrated ability to work within a multifunctional, multidiscipline team. The candidate will be required to demonstrate flexibility and an ability to coordinate with multiple internal stakeholders external customers to achieve a common goal. The candidate will be expected to lead the systems engineering, requirements management, and test engineering processes for multiple programs within the Geolocation portfolio.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Compiles and manages customer and project requirements and translates them into and specifications; integrates requirements an overall system diagram

  • Leads system engineering change management processes at the project level, ensuring established development processes are followed

  • Define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental and operational tests for new and/or modified system components

  • Provide subject matter expertise on SATCOM systems and operations, geolocation, and related topics

  • Assist in program and project management activities, such as managing cost, schedule and technical aspects of project

  • Provide systems engineering support to projects in the portfolio

  • Acts as an interface to internal and external customers.

  • Contribute to process improvement activities

  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

  • Assist in the execution of acquisition strategies, including drafting Statement of Work, Statement of Objectives, Request for Proposal preparations, monitoring deliverables, and attending acquisition related meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

  • US Citizen

  • Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Minimum 5 years of systems and/or test engineering experience in the SATCOM domain, with demonstrable knowledge, experience and proficiency in developing complex systems or sub-system design and architecture and associated requirements

  • Expertise with SATCOM and geolocation systems

  • Communications and coordination skills with technical team members across multiple organizations to plan, execute, and post-process test activities and data.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with government testing and system engineering.

  • Experience implementing and managing test engineering processes and interacting with contractors.

  • Experience in software development and software project management
