University of Colorado Electronic Resources Acquisition Professional in Colorado Springs, Colorado
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide professional support in the life cycle of Kraemer Family Library’s electronic resources. This position performs the ordering, licensing, renewal, payment, and maintenance activities involved in acquiring and making available a wide range of e-resources including e-journals, databases, streaming videos, and e-books.
Initiates contact and serves as ongoing contact person for electronic resources subscriptions by communicating with vendors from the point of price inquiry and negotiation until purchase or renewal decisions are made, by meeting with publishers and vendors when they visit the library, and by keeping library faculty and staff informed about the availability and acquisition status for electronic resources subscriptions.
Reviews license agreements for e-resources, collaborates with the Director of Collections Management to finalize licenses as necessary and assures that all fiscal and licensing requirements are met.
Negotiates renewal rates with electronic resources vendors.
Serves as contract liaison with the CU System Contracts Administrators, maintains official license and contract files, and responds to questions about license or contract content.
Develops, creates and maintains the records in the Sierra automated library system to support the acquisition, renewal, cancellation, and maintenance of electronic resources subscriptions.
Communicates electronic resources statistics and subscription information to library liaisons and others for renewal decisions.
Reviews invoices for e-resources to assure accuracy with license agreements, authorizes payment of invoices for e-resources, and monitors the e-resources budget.
Works closely with the Electronic Resources and Serials Librarian on maintaining accuracy in the library's link resolver product (360 Link) and in resolving access issues.
Documents procedures and best practices for tasks involved with e-resource acquisition.
Participates as needed in meetings to discuss consortia purchases of e-resources such as the CU System CLERT (CU Libraries Electronic Resources Team) meetings.
Assist with the development of goals and objectives for the Technical Services unit.
Provides a minimum of one shift of research assistance desk coverage each week.
Ability to understand, interpret and explain licensing terms and procurement guidelines.
Ability to handle numerous projects and procedures simultaneously.
Knowledge of current developments and trends in electronic resources acquisition.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and teams inside and outside the library.
Knowledge of accessibility issues as related to electronic resources.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in education.
Knowledge of standards, collection methods and/or interpretation of electronic resources usage.
This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Salary Range: Generally starting between $35,066 to $43,832

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
One (1) year of experience working in an academic library
An MLS or relevant coursework towards an MLS from an ALA-accredited library and information science program
Experience using the Sierra ILS system
Experience working with electronic resources in an academic library
