Structural Engineer 3SNC is looking for a Structural Engineer to support the analysis andcertification for commercial derivative aircraft.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform detailed structural analysis on both primary and secondary aircraftstructure in 3D CAD software for review and ensure release in configurationmanagement tool utilizing classical hand calculation methods and finiteelement analysisWork closely with structural design group to develop detailed 2D drawings forproductionDevelop substantiation documentation in order to demonstrate compliancerelated airworthiness requirements including;Test plans and reportsAnalysis documentsCompliance checklistsProduce detailed structural analysis reports and work with approvingdesignated engineering representative to obtain approvalCollaborate with other engineering functions, and subject matter experts onsystem level details including assembly and subassembly requirementsCoordinate with SNC operations for the installation of parts and assembliesfor approved SNC designs to include design clarification and discrepancyresolution through the approval of drawing redlines, revisions andnon-conformance reports.Coordinate with customers and/or maintainers to ensure thatapproved/delivered designs remain serviceable for product lifecyclesPrioritize workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demandsCommunicate with all levels of management, customers, and individualcontributorsRequired Qualifications:Experience in classical structural analysis of metallic and composite aircraftprimary and secondary structureExperience in finite element analysis (loads and detail finite element models)Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, CivilEngineering, or equivalent field of study and requires a minimum of 6+years of experience within the applicable discipline.ORTypically requires a Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, CivilEngineering, or equivalent field of study and requires a minimum of 4+years of experience within the applicable discipline.Requires Active Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:Able to demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of regulatory andapplicable airworthiness requirements including MIL-HDBK-516C, CFR 14 Part23, & 25 requirementsExperience in vibration analysis of aircraft structureExperience in damage tolerance analysis of metallic aircraft structureSolidWorks experienceExperienced in execution of government contractsExperience in integrating mission systems across a wide variety ofprimary/secondary structureExperience in VBA programmingExperience in liaison/MRB engineeringIMPORTANT NOTICE:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S.citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual asdefined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the requiredauthorizations from the U.S. Department of State.Sierra Nevada Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Female / Disability / Vet
