The Training Specialist III will develop, implement, administer, and evaluate training and technical assistance activities for assigned contracts. The position requires familiarity with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) suite of Clinical Information Systems (CIS). Awareness of DHA MHS -GENESIS Electronic Health record is a plus. This position will provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments as related to EHR training. Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge. Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met. Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management. Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in education or a related field.
May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of specialized experience in supporting Clinical Information Systems (CIS) training, tools, software installs and upgrades; preparing classrooms, facilities, and necessary equipment for classes.
Must have experience delivering classroom Instructor Led Training (ILT), one-on-one, and Structured On-the-Job Training (SOJT).
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Must have the ability:
Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology
Prepare instructional aids and plans o Determine training objectives and goals
Formulate training outlines and determine the most appropriate method of delivery based on specific need and knowledge of the effectiveness of various training methods (i.e. individual training, group instruction, overthe-shoulder support, and virtual training)
Evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods based on the utilization of relevant evaluation data
Coordinate or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs
Must be capable of providing formal and informal implementation guidance, integration, and change management support tasks (on the job training, formal and informal classroom and over the shoulder training) in a dynamic and interpersonal setting to support functional users (medical and dental providers) requiring assistance in implementing, using, and integrating CIS and its increments into the military medical clinical business process
Proficiency Level Required with MS Office Products: advanced.
Must be fluent in verbal and written English and English medical terminology.
Cerner certification or experience preferred.
Must be able to complete T3 (train-the-trainer) Training Certification (in at least 2 of 10 modules) within six (6) months of employment.
