Oracle Devops Manager in Broomfield, Colorado
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Pandemic Response Systems delivers proven software applications that help medical industries and governments of all types and sizes digitally track the lifecycle of a pandemic and interact with the public in regard to clinical trials, vaccine distribution and public survey engagement. As a member of the Health Sciences Global Business Unit (HSGBU) development organization, you will specify, design and develop enterprise grade operational procedures and implement major changes to existing infrastructure architecture. A successful candidate will be a strong team player who is able to work across multiple functions and disciplines. The candidate should be self-directed and have experience and knowledge of devops culture, global infrastructure management, SRE disciplines, and drive operational improvements.
What You’ll Do
Manage, develop and motivate a team of devops engineers to help them grow in their technical expertise and meet their career aspirations
Drive engineering teams to converge towards devops best practices around cloud native applications, Kubernetes, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Prometheus and many other modern SaaS technology
Work with teams in multiple continents in deploying and supporting a world class product and ensure that customers and stakeholders are well informed of the progress as well as of the risks
Provide technical leadership and direction and can comfortably deep dive into new technology
Foster a continuous improvement cycle to build organizational efficiency in an informal environment where change is the norm
Experience with cloud services delivery a plus
Experience delivering micro-services a plus
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Flexible to work with teams in various time-zones
Experience with agile software development process
You will be reporting to the Manager of Infra/Ops/Software development responsible for driving PRS-IO services
Provide program level leadership, delivery and drive product planning, execution and monitoring
Drive strong alignment within functional and technical stakeholders within and across the product groups
Manage high standards and drive visibility across the various initiatives in the group by reporting, managing and governing the overall objectives
Aid in delivering cloud service on top of the modern Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) building blocks at OCI
Leverage a plethora of internal program tools at OCI to develop, build, deploy and manage software
Mentor and groom technical program managers in the team
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or related/equivalent field
At least 6-10 years of previous software engineering or related experience
Has managed or lead a team of devops engineers, ideally delivering large scale systems in production
Demonstrates a deep understanding of Linux, networking, CI/CD, and large cluster management and automation
Proficiency in four or more modern programming languages (Java, C/C , Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Go, Perl, shell)
Experience with cloud native technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
Knowledge of automation trends for operational security processes (e.g. Vulnerability Management, Change Management)
Hands-on experience with different Cloud vendors on large-scale distributed deployments
Experience with CI/CD
Strong Agile background (eg. SCRUM/Kanban), able to practice and mentor others
Excellent analytical skills, professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Hands-on and competent in coding, and trouble shooting
You have prior experience in managing projects on distributed systems in the Cloud world
Managing programs end to end by balancing the key objectives of scope, budget, time and effort
Ability to Influence and engage various teams across the board and bring in best practices
Working experience on agile methodologies, project management processes, stakeholder management
Build and Delivery of a high-quality cloud service with the capabilities, scalability, and performance needed to match the needs of enterprise teams
Take the initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software by working effectively with the team and other stakeholders
You feel at home communicating & driving change management & adoption of key program management principles
