JPMorgan Chase Critical Systems Facilities Manager - Global Real Estate in Broomfield, Colorado

The Critical Site Facility Manager (CSFM) has the responsibility of ensuring the continuous operation of all assigned Data Centers. The CSFM will be responsible for the oversight of third party suppliers that provide facility management and engineering operations of the assigned Data Centers. The CSFM will also work closely with Operations and Engineering (O-E) leadership and Project Management (PM) in support of their activities at those assigned site(s).


  • Ensure continuous operation of the assigned sites by working to implement safety, operational and communication standards

  • Manage electrical and mechanical distribution to information technology equipment and LOB operations

  • Develop infrastructure resource management strategies (capacity/usage/reserve), and prepare reports on critical resource utilization for upper management

  • Support the management of in-house and vendor staff during business-as-usual operations as well as during emergencies or projects

  • Review and approve input Change Requests and associated Methods of Procedure (MOP)

  • Monitor and review Global Real Estate (GRE) third party input Change Requests and associated Methods of Procedure (MOP) for their assigned sites

  • Lead or participate in operational and project related meetings

  • Act as the primary interface with JPMC technology and security teams operating the Data Centers

  • Participate in policy, procedure and process meetings related to the Data Centers, and assure compliance with all defined policies and procedures

  • Participate in the composition of new O-E operational and construction standards, as well as support new capital projects related to critical or base building infrastructure, as well as develop project budgets

  • Participate in the daily management of critical environment infrastructure preventative and corrective maintenance efforts

  • Coordinate resources from within and outside of the facilities partnership to support assigned Data Center personnel in performing daily critical site operations and monitoring

  • Inspect Critical Sites assigned to other CSFM for compliance with O-E standards

  • Develop systems performance assessments

  • Provide health and safety guidelines

  • Administer testing and commissioning of equipment

  • Assist with establishment of system uptime and maintenance goals and assist with development of critical spare parts inventory

  • Ensure updating of engineering drawings and technical records

  • Assure vendor compliance with KPIs and SLAs

  • Provide technical and administrative support for building infrastructure projects.

  • Respond to emergency calls outside normal working hours


  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in mission-critical facilities or data center operations and maintenance

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Extensive experience with data center electrical and cooling architectures and reliability engineering techniques used in contemporary data center and/or communications facilities

  • Project management experience in the installation of technology equipment, structured cabling and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire-Life Safety (MEPF) infrastructure systems in a live computer environment

  • Experience in reading electrical and mechanical drawings, wiring schemes and control diagrams

  • Experience in verbal and written communication to upper management with an emphasis on technical and engineering documents

  • History of diagnosing problems in building support systems and making recommendations for solutions in a multi-vendor environment

  • Broad understanding of low voltage wiring techniques for networking, telecommunications, signaling, and control systems

  • Demonstrated track record of effective problem solving capabilities

  • Experience in utility management and energy conservation

  • Experience managing a technically oriented team

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project, and commercially available Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

  • Membership in professional engineering or facilities management organizations is a plus

  • Solid grasp of mathematics, physics principles and chemistry as they relate to facilities management and engineering operations

  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions diagrammatic form.

  • Basic knowledge of data processing and networking environments with moderate understanding of electronic data communications and computer hardware architecture.

  • Basic understanding of low voltage wiring techniques for networking, telecommunications, signaling, and control systems
