Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensiveprovider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse inour radiation oncology department in Boulder.Salary Range:RN I (0-3 years of experience) $31.00-$33.00RN II (3-5 years of experience) $33.00-$36.00RN Snr (5+ years of experience) $36.00-$44.00Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, workexperience, certification, etc. As of the date of this posting, inaddition to your salary, RMCC offer the following benefits for thisposition, subject to eligibility requirements: Health, dental, andvision plans; wellness program; health savings account; flexiblespending accounts; 401(k) retirement plan; life insurance,short-term disability insurance; long-term disability insurance, EmployeeAssistance Program; PTO, holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, andemployee paid critical illness and accident insuranceESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Perform baseline assessments on new radiation oncology and follow-uppatients which includes reviewing patient's medical records for baselinedata and comparing with assessment data.-Perform weekly and PRN assessment throughout course of treatment to includeassessing patients for side effect of radiation and reporting changes inpatient status to physician.-Perform post-procedure assessment by responding to patient calls aftercompletion of treatment.-Implement plan of care in accordance with established standards,guidelines, protocols, and procedures based on actual and potential problems.-Perform ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of nursing intervention andinitiate appropriate changes.-Complete admission assessment form on patients scheduled for radiationtherapy.-Coordinate and participate in immediate effective management of emergencies.-Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, andstaff including following through on patient information regarding allergiesand pregnancy and adhering to all department safety/OSHA policies.-Evaluate and assesses patient education and learning needs and providesinformation to patients/significant others based on these needs.-Function as a patient advocate, respecting patients bill of rights through1) confidentiality, 2) Right to be informed, 3) Right to privacy(physical and psychological) and advance directives.-Acts as liaison between Nursing, Radiation Therapy and Business Officepersonnel to provide optimal interdisciplinary patient care and maintaineffective relationship between services.POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of radiation therapy in thetreatment of cancer preferred but not requiredRN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing inColorado.All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check andnon-federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employmentand prior to hire.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.
