MITRE is in search of 5G, Multi-Access Edge Computing and Artificial Intelligence professionals to support several openings. All experience levels with at least 6 years of cellular domain expertise are encouraged to apply! All roles require the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. A select few require a Top Secret/SCI Full Scope Poly. These openings are in McLean, VA; Bedford, MA and Telework. The ideal candidate is passionate about keeping up with emerging technologies through continued learning and active engagements with academia, industry, and standards bodies. You exemplify a research-oriented mindset and are able to demonstrate subject matter expertise in commercial wireless protocols with the technical insights necessary to understand implications on sponsor missions and translate challenges into actionable, impactful solutions.

5G Core Network Research Engineers
Cellular Microservices Developers
Minimum:
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or like field
At least 6 years’ experience with deep technical expertise in a technical domain relevant to 5G, e.g.:
wireless communications
cloud networking
virtualization and orchestration
zero-trust security architectures
microservices development
Preferred:
Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
Master’s or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or like field
6 to 15+ years in a strategy, engineering, or product development role (senior level positions available)
Deep understanding of O-RAN, RAN intelligent controller (RIC), or multi-access edge computing (MEC) architectures and technologies
Technical experience across a wide range of technologies including Wireless Network Signaling, DevOps, Cloud, Data Analytics, Machine Learning
Understanding of security vulnerabilities across the 5G technical ecosystem
Expertise in one or more 5G industry verticals, such as healthcare, IoT, and unmanned aerial systems
Proven ability to manage complex programs and drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships
Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways
Ability to conduct multi-modal research, to synthesize structured and unstructured data
Experience with military and/or government a plus
Positions available from mid-level to senior expert. Specific experiential qualifiers vary by program.
