If yes, then join ourgrowingCarbon-FreeBuildingsteaRocky Mountain Institute (RMI) is seekinga leader for equity andengagement work on the Carbon-Free Buildings team.In this role, you willadvanceequitable solutions for carbon-free, healthy buildings that benefitall communities, renters, and homeowners, andenhance engagement withlocal and national organizations focused on equity and justice.You willleverage your existing experience working with environmental justice,frontline, and low income and/or BIPOC-led community groups.RMI's Carbon-Free Buildings program seeks to eliminate greenhouse gasemissions from U.S. buildings by 2050through solutions that build a just andequitable energy transition for all.The Carbon-Free Buildings program worksthrough policy advocacy, research, technical analysis, communication,and collaboration to achieve its goals.RMI is also seeking to share power withtraditionally marginalized people in a just, inclusive and meaningful way,working with them to address systemic injustice, inequity and oppression.Application Deadline:March 3rd, 2021Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop andlead strategies and external partnerships that focus on equityinbuilding decarbonizationIdentify key partners and develop best practices forpartner outreachwithenvironmental justice, frontline, and low income and/or BIPOC-ledcommunity groups to support or expand local engagement on buildingdecarbonization.Collaborate with key partners to define policy solutions that buildequity and social justicealongside our decarbonizationgoals.Adviseother team members inimplementing these best practices acrossourwork.Support an existing national equity working group focused on buildingelectrification,alongsidepartners.Participate alongside other RMI leaders in engagement with local groupsadvancingenvironmental justice, energy affordability, affordablehousing, renters' rights, air quality and health, climate,workforce development, and relatedwork.Directly support equitable building decarbonization campaigns in multipleU.S.statesCollaborate with RMI's regional managers to provide focused support toeach regionin developing and executing an equity-centered strategy tobuildingdecarbonization.Co-lead coalition-building in thisregionRepresent RMI as a thought leader and changeagentAct as the lead relationship manager with project partners andstakeholders.Regularly contribute to external interviews, videos, and publicationsto share project insights.Work with our development team to raise resources and determine equitableallocation of existing and new resources.Determine how results will be measured and be accountable for projectresults, rigorously and respectfully challenging findings from RMIteams and partners.Develop external communications materialsas needed to support theteam's equity-focused strategies, includingproducts such as blogs,op eds, talking points, slide decks, and public speaking engagements.Minimum Qualifications6+years ofprofessional workexperienceExperience with or familiarity withthe clean energy transitionand climatechangeExperiencewith issues such aspublic policy, communityengagement,environmental justice, and/or equitable coalition buildingExperiencedeveloping andmanaging externalrelationshipsExcellent writing and verbal communication skillsAbility to travel10-20%(once public health conditions allow)Desired QualificationsRelevant experiences related to energy, environmental, economic andsocial justice issuesExperience working with environmental justice, frontline, and lowincome and/or BIPOC-led community groups.Exper
