Job DescriptionActs as a technical leader within and outside his or her immediate team.Responsible for mentoring and developing more junior technicians in technicaltheory, application, and operational discipline. Takes on technical andproject-related escalations, providing appropriate levels of communicationof the scenario to the appropriate audience. The Senior Technician has anadvanced understanding of theory and application related to projectmanagement, radio access networks, backhaul to sites, disaster recoveryplanning and response, data services, and location-based services. TheSenior Technician has a solid understanding of theory and application relatedto network design, capacity planning, power systems AC/DC, and grounding.ResponsibilitiesRequires competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategicthinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management,results focus and inspirational leadership.*Technical support: Provides technical direction and support within andoutside immediate team. Provides technical support and direction in networkperformance initiatives, outage resolution and identifies day-to-dayimprovement opportunities. Actively influences peers and others towardachieving common goals.*Project management: Leads key projects / initiatives, providingday-to-day guidance to more junior technicians assigned to each given project/ initiative. Highly organized, effectively reporting progress,challenges, resolution plans, and overall status appropriately.*Operations: Identifies, researches, and develops process improvementsand recommends them to management for implementation and assists juniortechnicians in doing the same. Uses in-depth knowledge to provide input onprocess improvements related to maintenance and repair activities. Creates jobaids, scopes of work, method / statement of procedure, and helpfultools such as scripts.*Continuous learning: Creates training material and facilitates training topeers routinely. Enrolls in and completes training requirements to staycurrent on existing and new systems and products, to grow skills, and tomaintain proficiency on company values and organizational requirements.Qualifications*Must meet minimum technical proficiency requirements; proficient inMicrosoft Office*Excellent verbal and written communication skills*Self-motivated; exhibits initiative in achieving company goals and objectives*Basic leadership skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks*Able to work independently or in a team environment*Strong attention to detail*Flexibility with ever-changing environments and priorities*Understands basic RF Engineering, Radio Frequency theory, and Electricityand Electronics theory*Solve problems using creativity and innovation*Accepts and provides constructive feedback*Operational knowledge and theory of all interconnecting circuits to includebut not limited to T1, T3, and microwave radio*3-5 years' experience in field operations and maintenance, with a proventrack record of success*High School Diploma/GED*Technical degree*Applicant is to meet the minimum DOT medical standards under 49 CFR Part 391Minimum QualificationsAt least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the United States.High School Diploma or GED. Pre-employment background screen. Two-yearvocational degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.Must have and maintain a clean driving record & driver's license. Meetthe minimum DOT medical standards under 49 CFR Part 391. Ability to drivecars, trucks, or other equipment. Work day, afternoon and graveyardshifts, weekend shifts, on-call, and holidays.
